The Polish liner Stefan Batory downbound off Verchères QC on 9th December 1976 on her last transatlantic trip of the season from Montréal during an early freeze up. She was the former Maasdam of Holland America, built in 1952. She was broken up at Aliaga in March 2000. See Port of Call article.
