The port of Singapore is the world’s busiest in terms of tonnage handled, with 1.15 billion tonnes handled per year. The port
retains its position as the world’s busiest hub for trans-shipment traffic, and is also the world’s biggest bunkering hub, with
25 million tonnes sold per year. Here we look at some of the ships in the port and in the Straits in January 2016.

The 148,667gt Thalassa Niki of Ensesel Pte. Ltd. She was built in 2014 by Hyundai at Ulsan. She can carry 13,800 TEU.

 

The 23,453gt Sea Melody of DD Shipping in the Straits on 30th January. She was built in 2010 by SPP Shipbuilding at Tongyeong.

The 9,962gt Epoch Wind of Setsuyo Kisen Co. Ltd. sailing past the iconic Marina Sands Hotel. She was built in 2014 by Higaki at Imabari.

 

The 90,963gt Celebrity Millennium of Celebrity Cruises at the new Marina Bay Cruise Centre on 17th January. This new facility was completed in May 2012. The Celebrity Millennium was built in 2000 by Atlantique (Alsthom) at Saint Nazaire as the Millennium, her name changing to Celebrity Millennium in 2009.
