On 19th April the 24,206gt/2000 built Malo Seaways (ex-Stena Nordica) arrived at Calais from refit in Dunkirk for berthing trials before moving to Dover the next day. The ship entered service two days later, releasing the Calais Seaways for her refit and engine maintenance in Gdansk, Poland. Here she shared the dockyard with former LD Lines fleetmate Norman Voyager (now the Etretat).

The 22nd April also saw work on the new DFDS ferry terminal at Dunkirk get underway. The event took place in the presence of Dunkerque-Port’s CEO Stéphane Raison, Carsten Jensen, Senior Vice- President of DFDS Seaways and Henri Jean, Sub-Prefect of Dunkirk District, as well as the leading figures involved in the project. The total investment will be 13,680,000 Euros.
